See One really big problem with pulling the trigger on the Professor Hulk concept is that the Hulk is absurdly powerful and once Bruce actually has those powers under control you've got a massive tilt in the game balance for the good guys

Whenever the bad guys are just humans with guns he's pretty much unstoppable He should've been able to wrap up the Flag-Smasher bullshit in like one big fight, like c'mon

This is why the setting is just too big to maintain these themes if you draw attention to the crossover shit John Walker actually mentions Bruce Banner in his speech in Ep. 2 But, like, Zemo doesn't care about the Hulk when he's ranting about how bad super-soldiers are?

The Hulk is way, way closer to actually being a "living god" than Karli, who can just punch people really hard but is otherwise completely un-bulletproof

See also the actual literal God of Thunder, Thor All questions of character and theme aside, the choice to do the "Fat Thor" arc was absolutely just standard comic book reset button pragmatism

You can't just have him running around on Earth at full power and not expect the balance of power between the good guys and bad guys to get messed up He either needs to have "pressing business" on Asgard all the time, or, once Asgard has been exploded, to become an alcoholic

Remember when Thor told a tsunami to “yield”? Really wish the movies had him do some epic creation myth lunacy instead of lightning punch and joke. ( I like the Thor movies just sayin’)

I feel like Thor's personality shift in the movies was meta, they did this whole feature about how Hemsworth wasn't comfortable playing Thor as an epic hero and always felt kind of ridiculous in that position

Thor turning into a goofball loser in Endgame is letting both the character and actor breathe a sigh of relief Thor getting fat is a cry for help about having to stay on the Marvel Diet all this time
