Regardless of whether or not the X-Men will ever be in the MCU, I do kind of wonder if adamantium, the metal, will ever be canon

I mean in the comics it's just a mixed alloy of vibranium and iron so like in theory you should already be able to make it if you're in the MCU

Adamantium is not, in fact, made from vibranium (this is a common misconception) Captain America's shield in the comics is a completely unique alloy made from vibranium and ordinary steel, and as a result is truly completely indestructible and has never been duplicated

Dr. Myron McLain made the shield by accident in the lab after falling asleep in the lab, and was unable to duplicate the formula because it used up his only sample of vibranium

I'm really curious if the difference between the shield old Cap gave Sam is actually diegetically different than the one that got destroyed, or just a transparent stylistic change. They clearly aren't temporal doppelgangers. Maybe it's made out of something different too.

Wyatt Russell said that apparently the new shield prop they made for the TV show is made of a much lighter material than the original one Chris Evans used so he didn't have to train nearly as hard as he did for the role

Speaking of making a shield, that scene at the end of the last F+WS shows that John Walker has absolutely no idea what he's doing when it comes to making a shield. That scene makes no sense from a maker's perspective.

And the fake shield ends up getting busted up pretty fast in combat

But yeah they showed in the first Captain America that the original shield is a single solid piece cast from one mold that they just painted with the concentric rings Welding separate rings together like that has got to be a terrible idea
