Hm... I think it's debatable, but from where I stand, "unsanctioned drone strikes are bad even if we have to endure attacks in their absence" seems like a bolder stance than "if xenophobic politicians just had the right black dude explain things to them calmly they'd listen".

I thought of that watching it, but I don't think they pulled it off as shot. They focus on the politicians listening and being shamed into silence, not on people at home changing their minds.

All the senator has to do in this version is say "we will not be swayed by violence" and call it a day. Probably another area that feels rushed there.

Yea, the show isn't really saying anything changed substantively overnight. I'm sure Sam's speech had the same effect it would've irl. It's a big prop the faction already shown to be anti-removal could wave.
