I feel like F&WS tries to tacitly make the case that Karli got twisted into ISIS-levels of fanaticism because she took the super-soldier serum and isn't the Pure Unshakable Rock of the Galaxy like Steve Rogers is and I'm not really sure how I feel about it

I think, narratively, it would have made more sense to write her accidentally killing people because she was surprised by how powerful she was. Her deliberately murdering innocent people was senseless and served no narrative purpose

"served no narrative purpose" could have been the show's tagline. What did Power Broker add? And what did Julia Louise Dreyfuss's character add, v for that matter?

To be fair, the latter was supposed to have been introduced in the Black Widow movie.

The Contessa is explicitly a continuity cameo She's obviously going to start showing up in Phase 4 recruiting characters onto a team the way Samuel L Jackson did in Phase 1, she's the new Nick Fury

She's literally Nick Fury's counterpart, in the comics she was his morally ambiguous femme fatale girlfriend (who of course did eventually turn out to be an evil double agent)

I kind of doubt they're literally gonna set up JLD and SLJ as exes in the MCU But I'm not, like, opposed to it
