Actually yes people who demand that I, personally, print out a copy of something that I've already sent them electronically and they've had ample time to print themselves are extremely old in the worst possible wayhttps://twitter.com/LeahPilcer/status/1384992061020008450 …

Who are they even trying to fool Why the hell would they be giving you any actually useful information about anything at the interview "Well, since you didn't hire me, I'm going to take all that valuable wisdom you shared and start my own company to compete with you"
-
The theory is that you're as much interviewing them as they are you, that you're taking notes to decide which employer your want to bring your talents to This only works is you're already very hah happily employed and don't need the job. That's damn rare.

Huh. Apparently one of my ADHD coping mechanisms makes people think I’m studiously paying attention.

That's the part that got me more, tbh. Like what is there to take notes on???? Which "Top Ten Interview Questions for Millennials" article they decided to use? Any information they give regarding the job itself should be given again if they hire you

One of the stupid fictions they try to push on everyone is that all job interviews are, like, high-level search committees trying to fill executive positions "You're trying to find the right fit for you just as we're trying to find the right fit for us"

I mean, i *do* bring a notebook to in-person interviews -- executive dysfunction means it's a useful assistive device! -- but i absolutely think it's bullshit for managers to have that as an expectation.
-
(and while i do most of my writing on computers, i hate phone typing, it's easier for me to have paper in a stressful situation)

As a software dev, if I need to write anything in an interview, I expect to either have a white board or pen and paper provided. Coding and problem solving exercises are common in dev interviews and I've never been expected to bring my own materials for them.
