It's kind of funny to take this literally -- so like is anyone from the Parasite TV show going to comment "Boy, this is just like what happened to that other family in Seoul a few years ago Weird coincidence"https://twitter.com/LawofTD/status/1385302263019622401 …

Similar to the paradox where in the MCU the actor Robert Downey Jr doesn't exist and neither do any of his movies Something Endgame intentionally poked fun at by mentioning Hot Tub Time Machine (a movie Sebastian Stan prefers not to be reminded of)
-
(The Stucky fandom apparently went HAM over the fact that Sebastian Stan exists in the MCU and happens to look identical to Bucky Lots of mistaken identity shipping fics, which I'm sure Sebastian Stan's people have put a lot of effort into keeping away from him online)

Eh. I tend to assume "the actors don't look like the characters, or the characters don't really look that much like the actors" is a simpler way to reconcile fictional universes than making the actors not exist.

I mean, really, if they can replace Terrence Howard with Don Cheadle and (depending on to what extent TIH is canon) Edward Norton with Mark Ruffalo, clearly "what these characters actually look like" is loosely defined at best as an aspect of the 'cinematic universe'

The real ballsy move is to have the kid tell Robert De Niro that he should tone it down, then show him a video of Robert De Niro in The Godfather as an example of how to do it "right"
