See I was gonna say the slow-burn flirtation between Lois and Clark is why Superman had "universal appeal" back in the day and brought the women into the fandom But honestly, I think it appealed to the guy fans too back then

There was a lot of toxic masculinity flying around back then sure but I genuinely think they were less toxic about admitting that "romcom tropes" were something guys could genuinely enjoy and project themselves into Not something you had to have a date to have an excuse to watch
