And then they wouldn't have been able to put the movies on Disney+ without paying Universal a huge amount of money and Universal probably would've cut a separate deal with Netflix to show the movie there, or made it a "Peacock Live exclusive" or something

There probably was some bickering over "Yes, it does have to be The Dick Van Dyke Show, no, I don't care that it's owned by CBS, CBS owns I Love Lucy too, they own everything from back then because that's when they were the good network"

Mollified by the fact that Dick van Dyke, the person, is a "Disney Legend" and in the Disney Hall of Fame and whatnot and was willing to come down to the set to give his advice and blessing

They did put up Perry Mason after the HBO show though :-p i found that funny.

CBS never bothered to send a takedown notice on those old episodes because they probably thought it'd be mean-spirited and pointless and when that one upload got like thousands of hits right after WandaVision aired some lawyer probably got a talking-to from his boss
