Also the idea that men want lots of sex and women don't, for instance. That's totally culturally-determined; 500 years ago in parts of Europe it was widely thought that women were so sexually insatiable as to be incapable of reasoning.

This one never made sense to me because it's the exact opposite in the animal world in so many species. Peacocks of course, but my favorite example is bower birds, with the males building houses and collecting objects to attract mates. "Here, I got you everything blue!"
