To be fair Revan’s brain was broken at the time and maybe Revan would’ve never remembered how to open doors without his help.

Not to mention he would never have learned how bunk scheduling worked, or that the ship they were on was called the Endar Spire, or that he worked nights!

The Force can have a powerful influence on the mind... some say it can alter thoughts, even wipe away whole identities I’m sure that won’t be relevant though

When I was a kid the twist blew my mind and I loved how they threw the foreshadowing in your face when the reveal happens but I don’t know if it was only surprising to me because I was still a kid and didn’t see plot twists coming or if it was actually well crafted.

It was fairly unexpected for a game of that era, partially because it blatantly violates the "contract with the player", where if they invite you to design your own PC and give it a name and face and everything they're also letting you imagine your own personality and backstory

@Bootleggirl talked about how hard it hit her out-of-universe, that she felt the same thing her character did - this outrage that all of the background her PC had was suddenly crumpled up and thrown away as having always been a lie2 replies 1 retweet 6 likes -

What drove me a bit more batty about it was that, even with the twist aside, you can invest all this time in going light side with Revan throughout KOTOR and then TOR is like NOPE lol they canon basically went dark side again, chump

SWTOR hilariously tried to pull one of those "Both are valid" things Revan turns out to actually be a split personality and *both* Dark Revan and Light Revan are technically real, separate people

But yes the Light Side ending has to be the one that actually happened or Satele Shan can't exist

In SWTOR at least they explained it too as Revan being broken from being tortured by the Emperor for hundreds of years.
