Not to mention he would never have learned how bunk scheduling worked, or that the ship they were on was called the Endar Spire, or that he worked nights!

Replying to @BootlegGirl @Superninfreak and
The Force can have a powerful influence on the mind... some say it can alter thoughts, even wipe away whole identities I’m sure that won’t be relevant though

When I was a kid the twist blew my mind and I loved how they threw the foreshadowing in your face when the reveal happens but I don’t know if it was only surprising to me because I was still a kid and didn’t see plot twists coming or if it was actually well crafted.

It was fairly unexpected for a game of that era, partially because it blatantly violates the "contract with the player", where if they invite you to design your own PC and give it a name and face and everything they're also letting you imagine your own personality and backstory

Unfortunately it’s such a well known twist now that most people who play it for the first time today are already spoiled by it.

Yeah and now everyone's gonna be alert for that particular twist in any new game you make

Especially because Bioshock did similar twists with subverting player agency. Being an amnesiac who is weirdly good at everything is suspicious now.

I mean Planescape Torment lampshaded this trope first, although that wasn't really a "twist"

Final Fantasy VII did this too I guess
