I can’t believe people forgive the geth, just like that, for killing Jenkins Like, do you not realize what you owe Jenkins? How can you just walk around with Legion as a party member when he was part of the hive mind that killed Jenkins??

It is a bit off putting that he was done in by a Geth flying drone. Would it have been more effective/ impactful if he was taken away and spiked by a Geth? Or caught by Husks?

Bioware has a thing for introducing temporary party members in the beginning who die really quickly but Jenkins is one of the shortest lived.

I’m curious what the logic is since they use that trope a lot. Maybe it’s so they can quickly demonstrate how evil and dangerous the antagonists are?

It's an extension of the Doomed First Town

It’s kind of interesting though how Bioware’s doomed tutorial guy is usually someone your player character just met. It’d be different if the doomed first party member was like your character’s beloved dad or something.

It's hilarious how SWTOR has the aristocratic Ulgo family have a whole family legend about their esteemed ancestor Trask Ulgo, the Doomed Tutorial Guy from KotOR 1

It’s silly but one of my favorite Mass Effect head canons/fan theories is that “Marauder Shields” (the last enemy trying to prevent you from getting to ME3’s ending) is Nihlus from back in ME1.

I've seen a fanfic about how the whole reason Trask Ulgo was in that position is that he volunteered to nurse a brain damaged Revan back to health because he's her older brother
