As time goes on it gets increasingly annoying that out of deference to tradition they keep saying Black Widow's real name is "Natasha Romanoff" and not Natalya Romanova (I mean in-universe I doubt she gives a shit, considering she doesn't remember her parents, but still)

This annoyed me so much did I literally used as a plot point in a fanfic. That despite Nat having supposedly corrected her name multiple times, SHIELD keeps changing the records back every time they change systems. It turns out it's on purpose, because of time travel bullshit.

Basically, Peggy knows Steve is going to end up in the future, and he needs to know something vitally important, but no one can realize it's important until that point. So she programs the system to mess with Nat name until she gets so annoyed that she confronts Peggy.

So far MCU has adapted the Cole War frame work to The War on Terror and The Post-Comunist Ballans. But i feel this would be much more hard with Blackwidow, like i specr the movie to be an anachonistic Archer-Like stuff with a modern Russia that is still Soviet Rusia

My sister married a Russian guy in a Brooklyn courthouse and they would only let her change her name to his, not the feminine version of his. Their daughters are now also stuck with that form.

This also reminds me that it always bugged me just a *tiny* bit that in Winter Soldier she says she worked for the KGB when the Soviet Union fell when Johansson was 7 IRL. Like, sure, the FSB is basically the KGB in all but name but it's the kind of technicality she'd observe.
