So I was thinking yesterday A lot of us know how that show DALLAS decided to kill off that character Bobby Ewing, then the writers realized this was a terrible idea and hastily declared all of the following season to have been a dream But KNOTS LANDING had spun off of DALLAS

KNOTS LANDING had a shared universe with DALLAS (the protagonist was Gary Ewing) And when DALLAS killed off Bobby Ewing, KNOTS LANDING had all these references to it and like acknowledged the funeral in the plot and shit But then that all turned out to be a dream, remember

So did that season of KNOTS LANDING also turn out to be a dream? No They just proceeded on and never mentioned Bobby Ewing again So did Gary Ewing disappear from any mentions of DALLAS? No, the character appeared in the 2013 revival But KNOTS LANDING was unmoored from canon

AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. was a spin-off from the MCU, right Agent Carter appeared in it, Nick Fury appeared in it, Jasper Sitwell was in it, obviously Coulson was in it But when the Snap happened, AoS just... ignored it It decided "this is, at last, too much fuckery to take"
