Thank you for popping the absurd ego bubble of the British Guardian media clique with some very simple questioning on Webb's views that he is so unaccustomed to receiving in the UK that he immediately throws his toys out of the pram.

Do you think children's charities should be beyond criticism? RW mentioned Oxfam, do you think it's wrong of papers to report about latest claims? As RW said here does that mean they hate the people Oxfam helps? He was ambushed, why wouldn't he be reserved about being questioned?

But this is a lie The article he shared in 2018 and the comments he made in 2018 - and has repeated sporadically since - are NOT specifically about Mermaids mishandling funds or engaging in individual misconduct or whatever They are against Mermaids' core goal

Thorn was much more polite than he needed tú be about this - Webb was dodging to avoid being held to account for a position he obviously holds He said in so many words he was a "gender-critical feminist" and tried to pretend this has nothing to do with Thorn or his daughter

Is that Thorn's remit, to challenge his guests about their views on contentious issues? Passive aggressive more like. What did he want RW to say? He wanted him to say something, what was it? To repent? To explain himself? To discuss a very complex issue on what was meant 1/

I don't think anyone who's attacked gender-affirming parents should expect to sit down and have a talk with a gender-affirming parent in any context and not be challenged

Amazing how the GC demand is "Speak up! Children are being damaged! It's your responsibility to get involved!" on fucking Twitter Then when you're faced directly with one of the parents "damaging children" you suddenly clam up and get very quiet and it's a "complex issue"

What, when it's very clear that RW has been intimidated into silence in the first place. How dare you, here you all are on the flimsiest of contexts smearing him & threatening his reputation & career & you have the nerve to complain that he no longer wants to talk about it.

Oh ffs. Robert Webb has not been "silenced". He's been challenged publicly precisely one time since he went off on one about how he'd have been "transed" as a kid if he was young now. He has a huge platform, he needs to grow thicker skin if he's going to use it to attack people.

Of course he's been silenced. What when he sees what happens to other people? He hasn't spoken about this for a long time, why should he be challenged on it now? And why do you not believe him that he feels he would have been 'transed' as a kid?

He speaks about it whenever he thinks he sees an opportunity to bring it up again without too much challenge to his cowardice, like when he popped his head up to defend JK Rowling

And I have no reason to disbelieve what he thinks of as his personal stake in the matter, it's just pathetic and wildly transphobic "What if *I* were trans? What if *I* ended up LIKE YOU? That would be the WORST THING" And you have the gall to wonder what's insulting about this
