I never said he was civil. I wasn't shocked. None of what you are replying to me here applies to me. But keep making up your own mind about what people think without actually listening to them hey.

"uncivil" that should have said "uncivil" obvs. Him losing the interview at the end had nothing to do with him being uncivil and everything to do with him holding on too long to a topic his guest had responded to and made clear he didn't want to talk about. OK? good.

Persisting on topics of public interest even when your interviewee doesn't want to talk about them?Generally considered good journalism. An interviewer who's "tough", "doesn't pull punches", "doesn't let things slide", &c is valued.

Ahahaha it's a mediocre podcast about culture mate, he's not Larry King.

I wouldn't say a deleted 3 year old tweet was in the public interest.

I'm seeing many people in this thread (including those who agree with him!) who think transgender issues are a matter of public interest.

It is funny to see the "GC crowd" try to fall back on talking about anything other than the issue at hand (as Webb did in the interview itself) Taking this dishonest detached stance "Well whatever you think of this issue this was set unprofessional Jesse"

I think Jesse can take care of himself professionally thanks He lays out at length why he considered this question both to be of vital personal interest to himself and "in the public interest" Seems the public generally agrees

If Jesse feels this topic is one he wants to cover, why not ask an actual GC figure on to the podcast to talk about it? If there is public interest, why not properly address the issues with people actually involved in the discourse instead of asking someone not interested in it?

It's not about making his podcast into a "gender issues podcast" from a comedy podcast, it's about the fact that even if you have a comedy podcast that mostly talks to comedians about comedy you can't just let this shit go, especially when it directly affects your family

It was already obnoxious the degree to which people just turn a blind eye to bigotry because "Colleagues shouldn't talk about politics" It's another thing entirely to ask people to let shit go when the bigotry is *against you and your family*
