That's fine, it was more interesting to hear how bad it was from an interview perspective. Way to ensure you will never get a repeat interview Jesse, pretty sure plenty of other people might be more inclined to deny invitations after that too!

Amazing that you can say trans-affirming parents are abusing their kids, then act shocked, wounded and offended that an actual trans-affirming parent might have negative feelings about you having said so

It's kind of shocking tbh that TERFs really think Thorn was "uncivil" here (he was *absurdly* civil) I guess the idea is you think all trans allies must secretly know they're talking bollocks and should have the decency to act ashamed of this when challenged by sensible people?

I never said he was civil. I wasn't shocked. None of what you are replying to me here applies to me. But keep making up your own mind about what people think without actually listening to them hey.

"uncivil" that should have said "uncivil" obvs. Him losing the interview at the end had nothing to do with him being uncivil and everything to do with him holding on too long to a topic his guest had responded to and made clear he didn't want to talk about. OK? good.

Persisting on topics of public interest even when your interviewee doesn't want to talk about them?Generally considered good journalism. An interviewer who's "tough", "doesn't pull punches", "doesn't let things slide", &c is valued.

Ahahaha it's a mediocre podcast about culture mate, he's not Larry King.

I wouldn't say a deleted 3 year old tweet was in the public interest.

It wasn't just the one tweet, it was a whole rant about being "gender critical", and he hasn't actually remained silent in the years since then (he came out of the woodwork to defend JKR, for instance)

What would you like to have seen him say Arthur?

In an ideal world? "I apologize for attacking families like yours based on ignorance after having been drawn into a hateful ideology by hateful people"

The question was about criticism of Mermaids (charity) not about attacking families, if Robert had done that, perhaps that is what Jesse should have asked about?

It was criticizing Mermaids in the sense that it was saying Mermaids' core goal, supporting and defending families like Jesse's, amounted to child abuse Trying to hide the specifics behind the vague statement "He criticized Mermaids" is the abject cowardice he's being mocked for
