I love psychology (even have a degree in it) but it's a weird mush of ideas and concepts that aren't backed that well and it wasn't started by the best people. Freud at least kind of cared about traumatized veterans, Jung was a racist who ran a sex cult. But both sucked.
Yeah I forget the name of the story but it's this rapidly expanding bubble of reality distortion/mind control centered on this one sheltered housewife who believes in a lot of stupid 50s crank theories
