Also, I feel the role of acceptance is massively undervalued. Someone who is in a bigoted environment is less likely to even think about being trans. If parents had regular conversations about gender; the number of people who would be able to identify as GNC would increase

It always makes me wonder what the internal thought processes of these people are actually *are*. Is there just...no introspection or any level of situational analysis? Do they really just go through life exclusively reacting to things without any inner life?

It's in some ways a rhetorical descendent of the ableism and ageism kids have dealt with in the modern world already. Their agency doesn't count, it's not "real", because they lack some ineffable maturity.
