This is what “just asking questions” leads to. This is what signing up to defend the “free speech” of hateful bigots involves you in. This is what the people you’re defending actually want to do. They aren’t going to stop at whatever genteel form of transphobic policy you prefer.https://twitter.com/chasestrangio/status/1381641701245194244 …

Oh boy, there's so many I asked just even today. Some questions about gender dysphoria, like what exactly causes it, and how it relates to gender.

That’s not what we’re talking about here. We’re talking about powerful cis people with massive media platforms questioning how and when and if children should be “allowed” to transition.

Okay, so first of all, that's a fantastic question to be asking. It will need to be asked a lot of times by a lot of different people, even if you personally already know the answer. Secondly, we still need to ask questions about gender in the context of neuroscience!

"We" don't need to do any such thing, and the idea that we need a Technocratic Union of Serious Science Professionals to carefully craft an Ideal Life Plan for every individual person (as opposed to just letting people do what they want) is responsible for untold harm
