Despite being the two named Sokovian characters in the MCU, Zemo and Wanda cannot meet, because Zemo would be unable to refrain from calling her a basic bitch for her tastes in TV, and she would be unable to refrain from telekinetically turning him inside out

And yet as he turned inside out he would somehow do it smugly and sardonically and make her feel like he'd won the exchange

Honestly I joke about how distractingly obvious it is that Daniel Bruhl is German and just playing Zemo as German without making any effort to imitate Elizabeth Olsen's "Sokovian" accent But you can chalk it up to aristocrats generally being foreigners in their own country

Lots of aristocrats are actually German Queen Elizabeth is actually German, and so was her Greek husband (there's one German family that became the British monarchy and there's one that became the monarchy of both Greece and Denmark)

Fun little result of this: The Royals, this quintessentially British institution, celebrate Christmas on Christmas Eve rather than Christmas Day.

Her great great great grandmother was German. I don’t think we’d call anyone else German on that level of ancestry.

The patrilineages are all German aside from the Karageorgevics (actually Serbian), and the Bourbons, the Braganzas, the Bernadottes and Savoys (French, roughly). But there's bits of ancestry from all over Europe.

But seems weird to say that a woman whose mother was from an extremely British family, and whose father was born in the UK to parents both born in the UK, is "actually German".
