I realize this is discourse from the 1980s, but Kissmate showed me Scream and Friday the 13th for the first time last night, and *how* did Drew Barrymore's character (a) watch Friday "20 times" and yet (b) think the killer was Jason and not Mrs. Voorhees???

Because the tape she had of "Friday the 13th" was actually one of the sequels, I guess Much easier mistake to make in a pre-Internet era

I dunno that it's even really headcanon, the voice on the phone says "Wrong, that was the SEQUEL!" right before killing her boyfriend

(One fun game to play is trying to figure out when Ghostface is being played by Billy and when he's being played by Stu in this scene Most likely Stu would've insisted on being the one to actually physically kill Casey and Steve)

Right, "it was actually two people all along" is a cool explanation for a villain who seems to have the ability to teleport, but then you go back and check to see what must've actually happened in that scene and if the filmmakers did it honestly
