To not know *any* of the discourse that's gone on in pop culture and academia and activism for *decades* before "Black Lives Matter" became a thing on the Internet To not know and not care and not bother to look it up even though your anger about it consumes you

Anyway I do think it's the same thing with trans activism Like there's this violent backlash right now to early transition Saying "the idea of trans kids was invented in 2014, before then NO ONE would've thought transition was for ANYONE but adults"

"This is the result of escalating demands from the trans community leading to more entitlement This is the result of George Soros pouring money into the movement as part of a Great Reset agenda This is because of bored activists creating a new cause after they got gay marriage"

No, dude You're just -- you're just plainly factually incorrect okay The discourse about trans kids is older than I am All the "trans elders" back in the day talked about knowing they were trans since they were kids, very clearly, in their memoirs and "transition narratives"

When I was in college, which is now very long ago, there was TONS of online discourse about "late transitioners" vs. "early transitioners" I knew of someone who archly referred to herself on LJ as "one of those legendary teenage transitioners"

It has always been a thing The knowledge of how delaying transition into adulthood wastes years of life and creates unnecessary medical consequences has always been a thing People just didn't believe it could be changed, the prospect seemed impossible

Just like gay people didn't "suddenly decide they wanted gay marriage" you prick they ALWAYS wanted gay marriage but knew that it was a distant possibility and had to pick their battles But the damage done by a society that lacked gay marriage was always real and always mattered

"Trans women are women" is not a new idea -- Sandy Stone, one of the OG members of "the community" (so OG Janice Raymond viciously attacked her in the founding text of TERFism, The Transsexual Empire) said as much

The whole fucking thing, the basic idea of being a trans woman, is summed up in the simple sentence "I'm a woman even if everyone else says I'm not", regardless of whatever philosophical baggage you want to throw on that sentence and how you choose to interpret it

Have trans women surrendered the field to their opponents on that before? Sure, as a tactical measure -- no different from gay activists going "Well okay I'm not saying we're *married*, we have a *civil union*, because legally that's an important distinction"

But that's not anyone's desires or beliefs or true nature changing That's just people reacting to you, and the power you wield against them
