Something tells me he hasn’t looked into the sheer cost and qualifications people need to qualify for adoption. Fertility treatments are often cheaper and adoption can take a tremendous amount of time. It’s not like a store where you just pick up a kid and drive home.

Or infertile couples. Adoption often costs more and not everyone is qualified. My residency status right now does not qualify me to adopt or foster, my husband’s work offers benefits for fertility treatments, I’ll get those.

The boom and relative ease of adoption during the 1950s-1980s was a historic anomaly. I say this as someone who eventually would like to adopt/foster/offer a place or a family to an LGBTQ+ teen/young adult.
