It's so interesting reading arguments like this as a cis person who has had cosmetic surgery. Should I also have been sent to therapy to "accept" that my J-cup breasts were "perfect," or am I considered competent to make decisions about my own body?

From the TERF perspective yes. Janice Raymond called it "Ethics of Integrity" and went bizarrely precious bodily fluids about it

She also opposed IVF and hrt for women having menopause, because they each violate the p integrity of the perfect natural body. It's just the trans stuff was really popular with people who hate trans people so that's what she got famous for.
