Have me host Jeopardy but all I do is lounge on set and push the button that makes the question come up I won't read it to them, they can read it themselves and then I'll tell them if they're right

Well, it turns it into a game of reading speed, which they felt was not the skill they wanted to test, hence the current rule

nah back when they could buzz in immediately it was super fucking irritating. You'd get people buzzing in immediately, reading the question, then answering. It was dumb.

Right, you have a fixed time limit to answer but people would try to read and answer as fast as they could Led to a lot of bad guesses and a game punctuated by a lot of silence
