And there's a bit of bait-and-switch - at first you could think this was just a story about poverty and therefore "universal" But then after they DO scrape the money together and they DO make their down payment the neighborhood forms a fucking committee to get them to leave!

And like if they're willing to do this formally and publicly - send a fucking guy in a suit to come to their apartment on broad daylight directly telling them not to move - then what the hell are they gonna be willing to do informally under cover of night
