Technically speaking, the MCU has had a different canonical U.S. Presidents from Earth-1218 (aka "Reality") at differing points, specifically Matthew Ellis elected during IRON MAN 3 and referenced subsequently (concurrent with Obama IRL, who is also mentioned but only on Netflix)https://twitter.com/woweed1/status/1378415670724005892 …

Wouldn't a much lower population density reduce the spread rate? Plus, I think it was suggested that there were a lot less public gathering events going on.

It actively does not make sense that human civilization exists in any recognizable form during the Blip -- that there's a US government, an Internet, Fortnite servers on said Internet, etc -- but whatever, it's just one big handwave

I've been thinking about how funny (?) it is that the pandemic slots into the period between the snap and the blip in the MCU. What we see in Endgame suggests that mostly people spent that time sitting around feeling miserable (other than Hawkeye who took up serial murder.)

So, like, this tracks? That's sure most of what I did for the last year! (I 100% agree that NOTHING about civilization continuing and even having its shit together enough to put up monuments and stuff makes any real sense.)

Entirely possible that COVID happens but never spreads due to the 50% population reduction meaning lower population density prevents the spread.

It would have been severely mitigated, right? Like, with the numbers of people reduced the spread should have been… lower, if not half?
