You notice Christians don't talk about how the reason there's a day in between Good Friday and Easter Sunday is Jesus is Jewish and spent the Sabbath chilling inside his grave like you're supposed to

I always heard it as “and on the third day, he rose!” I never thought about it directly, but phrasing it that way is a clearer. Now, one can certainly still get pedantic about wether or not calling Friday afternoon to Sunday morning 3 days is a bit much.

It has to do w/how days, & other things, are counted, which has as much to do w/culture as math. Basically, some cultures (esp modern) start counting at 0, others at 1—& some vary depending on what’s being counted…+

Yes, and there's lots of wording using "on the 3rd day" rather than "after 3 days". But it was an eye-opener to find no adults who thought this was worthy of discussion, rather than just regurgitating "it was 3 days" as dogma

Yeah he died Friday afternoon/evening and came back Sunday morning so in terms of 24-hour periods it was really only 1.5 days Saturday was the only full day he spent dead (hence the point of my post)
