I just want to add that the last freakout about celebrity trans people I remember was TERFs flipping out about an interview with Halsey about coming out as non-binary With Halsey saying "I've always had feelings like this but it wasn't until I had a kid that they solidified"https://twitter.com/drdevonprice/status/1377629446841237508 …

This kind of thing applies to everyone, of course, even if you don't have a uterus AMAB people get bombarded with "You'll know what 'being a man' REALLY means once you get a girlfriend, once you get married, once you have a kid" It's less intense but it's there

The thing is because of the hypervisibility of trans women and because of the distorted, performative radfem narrative TERFs have appropriated as their intellectual justification, this got worked through a lot faster

On the one hand they're still saying "Young trans women coming out are just incels who don't want to be men because they'll never be a husband or father" On the other hand, they point to trans women with families coming out in middle age as "This is just MORE MALE SELFISHNESS"
Show this thread -
"They've reaped all the BENEFITS of manhood and now they want MORE" (An incredible thing to argue, as though coming out as a trans woman in middle age doesn't have quite extreme costs that exactly correlate to the level of "benefits" previously earned in the closet)

(They could make this exact same argument about trans men who come out in middle age after having kids but they avoid it as hard as possible, helping contribute to the invisibility of older trans men, whom they prefer to pretend do not exist)

(Because admitting there are any social "benefits" to cis female motherhood flies in the face of their entire narrative)

I, as a trans man, want to get pregnant because I want to be a dad. I don't think it'll "connect" me to my "womanhood". Kinda sexist to think womanhood should be connected to pregnancy.

When I was 18 I tried to fix myself by getting pregnant but luckily for the hypothetical baby I didn't manage it. At 27 I cold bloodedly got pregnant because I wanted a baby, and while it helped me appreciate the stuff my body can do, it radicalised the gender feels

Incidentally, I had a nasty argument with some brand of homophobe who insisted that deliberately having sex to get pregnant was very very wrong. The only truly natural way to reproduce is to just be horny until it happens :-/

That sentence made me shudder. How in this century is anyone duped into believing women are baby factories still.
