TERFs were real mad about that, like tearing their hair out "This doesn't make SENSE How could GETTING PREGNANT and GIVING BIRTH be the one thing that makes you feel LESS like a woman" Well, work through the logic Karen She believed in the same narrative you're pushing

And the narrative failed It fails a lot of people, a HUGE NUMBER of people completely internalize the narrative "Well, maybe this whole 'woman' thing will make sense to me after I get pregnant, which is the Purpose of Womanhood and all" and then it just doesn't

This kind of thing applies to everyone, of course, even if you don't have a uterus AMAB people get bombarded with "You'll know what 'being a man' REALLY means once you get a girlfriend, once you get married, once you have a kid" It's less intense but it's there

The thing is because of the hypervisibility of trans women and because of the distorted, performative radfem narrative TERFs have appropriated as their intellectual justification, this got worked through a lot faster

On the one hand they're still saying "Young trans women coming out are just incels who don't want to be men because they'll never be a husband or father" On the other hand, they point to trans women with families coming out in middle age as "This is just MORE MALE SELFISHNESS"
Show this thread -
"They've reaped all the BENEFITS of manhood and now they want MORE" (An incredible thing to argue, as though coming out as a trans woman in middle age doesn't have quite extreme costs that exactly correlate to the level of "benefits" previously earned in the closet)
Show this thread -
(They could make this exact same argument about trans men who come out in middle age after having kids but they avoid it as hard as possible, helping contribute to the invisibility of older trans men, whom they prefer to pretend do not exist)
Show this thread -
(Because admitting there are any social "benefits" to cis female motherhood flies in the face of their entire narrative)

It has the same whiff as people who aren't happy about being parents trying to berate and shame others into it who decided not to have kids.

I'm not sure about that one tweet about adultism (I mean I get the point, I just wish they phrased it better) but the amount of people acting like adultism is a term they just made up and not a term that's been used for decades is frustrating
