Great point, person who I am sure has never in their life made an inference about a person's motives and worldview based on the things they have written and said, thanks for contributing

That's a pretty big inference. But he blocked me so I can't go back and re-explain it. If you think singal thinks trans people shouldn't exist... I think that's just proof your ideology is toxic. Calling attention to scientific unknowns shouldn't scare you

It’s not a big inference at all. If JS believes (a) that “the only real thing ... is dysphoria”, and (b) ideally, you could treat GS without transitioning, then (c) his ideal world doesn’t have trans people. You can argue (a) or (b) but (c) is the logical outcome of the statementpic.twitter.com/7JDUxRLDX8

This isn't some kind of hidden secret matter of interpretation Look, just try flat-out saying it, lay the gauntlet down -- tell Jesse and his TERF friends "I see being trans as a positive good It is a net gain for the world every time a kid transitions" See how they react

They FLIP THE FUCK OUT at this sentiment, so much so that people who have to deal with "the debate" in any capacity have to carefully avoid saying anything along these lines It's the whole basis of their rage and anger -- "You want to turn kids into EUNUCHS"

I don't think you can turn anyone into anything, and I don't want to try But more people being trans is good Trans people are good Transition is good All of these seemingly anodyne statements are things that people of Jesse's ilk think are horrifying and shocking

In my perfect world everyone could try out several genders before choosing, if indeed they ever chose just one at all. To a person focused on dysphoria and medicalization that's got to sound like absolute shrieking nonsense, but why?

Why does transition have to be good? Shouldn't it be neutral and value free? I interpret the Jesse argument as, sometimes young kids are confused about gender identity. Let's try to figure out who is trans and who isn't before we do medical interventions.

"Neutral and value free" means that trans puberty isn't any better or worse than "natural" puberty, which means that a wanted trans puberty is just as good as a wanted endogenous puberty and an unwanted endogenous puberty is just as bad as an unwanted trans one

This is very obviously not what Jesse thinks Indeed when people say "'Allowing' a trans child to go through endogenous puberty is mutilation and abuse" it's the kind of sentiment he thinks of as mob hysteria
