Yeah I know "corrective rape" is a shocking/triggering phrase but I don't feel like sugarcoating They'll deny it in their genteel bourgeois conservative way but this is what they mean about "hold on and keep your daughter safe until she discovers boys!"

ANY version of the right-wing attack "You'll grow out of this nonsense when you have a child of your own" leads to these implications This is part of the basic abusive mindset that drives partners of AFAB people to reproductive coercion and birth control sabotage

As someone who has been pregnant...it's a load of horse shit, too. I hated almost everything about it (though I did want my child). This myth of "wonderful/enlightening pregnancy" is vile and dangerous, luring vulnerable people into making huge choices they can't take back.
-
My mom said once that she'd talked herself into thinking her pregnancy with me was an amazing experience. Then she had my younger twin brothers and realized that she'd internalized my grandmother's bullshit while recovering and that she actually hated being pregnant.

The part that is really brain breaking for me is that plenty of men have been pregnant, before or after having their trans status recognized.

A while ago I came across a GC saying trans people shouldn't be allowed to transition until they're 25 because otherwise they're not mature enough to make permanent decisions. I pointed out she made a "permanent decision" by having a baby as a teenager and she blocked me. Odd.

There was an academic paper some years back on what the author called "Caddy Woodlawn syndrome" -- the storyline, extremely common in middle grade books with girl protagonists, where the girl is a tomboy and "runs wild" and hates everything girly, but
-
at the climax of the novel, the girl is forced into more feminine behavior and realizes it's not THAT bad and this is when she Becomes A Woman. It's a coming-of-age story arc.

Hmmm and I noticed .... when I was allowed to grow up, there were magical things to experience that I didn’t know about ... Sinister that yep
