You ever seen what a pineapple looks like growing in the ground? It's somehow hilarious "Picking" a pineapple just means giving it a haircuthttps://twitter.com/kittystryker/status/1375205411884703748 …

Images of how to grow asparagus just look like a joke, like you just got some from the store and stuck it in the dirt to pretend you grew it. Like seriously, fuck off, you think I'm Marie Antoinette over here? Pshaw pic.twitter.com/AmcsGX1CAI

I remember I assumed they grew on a tree, (hence the name) so the first time I saw pineapples growing for real I was like "fuck off that's not real."

Yeah the name "pineapple" is an extremely lazy-ass name based on the fact that it's shaped like a giant pine cone

I was a very grown ass adult before I learned what brussels sprouts plants looked like - I always pictured row upon row of tiny sprouts growing like wee cabbages...

Seeing a flowering pineapple plant and learning that the fruit is basically actually a bunch of berries fused together rather than a single fruit was mind-blowing. Multiple flowers cluster together and produce fruit and the fruit grow into each other forming the pineapple.

My favorite pineapple fact remains that it used to be good money to rent them out to fancy parties.

Papaya also looks silly, but I think my favorite weird food growing thing is that you can hear rhubarb.
