Steve Martin's play Picasso at the Lapin Agile with its imaginary meeting between Einstein and Picasso made the point that art and science are Not So Different They have very different definitions of "meaning" and "truth" but they are ultimately the same kind of human endeavor https://twitter.com/mssilverstein/status/1374830556052086787 …

Is there a line between "science" and "art project that takes a whole lot of sciencing to pull off?"

It's impossible to reduce down to money and it's one of the things I find worthy of /song/ that scientists look at the world the way they often do, and are curious about it for its own sake rather than dividing it up for sale in a box. Not that some don't, of course, but still.

Like, half the poetry I write is inspired by science I encounter. It's honestly a running theme in my work. Makes for really, really good work too. The best poetry I've written in my life so far has been about stargazing, and cave paintings, and science about the smell of rain.
