That's an issue of trust, not of low time preference. If a person is lying to you for their own benefit, anything he or she uses is considered bad. Truth is, it's neither good nor bad

LOL. Yes, it is an issue of trust. And with someone who is not trustworthy, "I'm not going to give you the thing I'm promising you right now, I'll give it to you later, you should be fine with that," is actually much worse.
