The idea of spending time and money on entertainment, especially in the Pandemic Times, being bad is insipid. People aren't designed to be able to just sit in an empty room and stare at the wall, I'd rather be doing something fun and engaging myself.

You're right that I'm not just bloodlessly describing the objective definition of the term "time preference" as used by economists, I'm addressing the culty way it's exploded 20,000x in daily usage by members of the Bitcoin cult

In which they use the term in the exact same classic way that other cults have used similar terms like "faith"

"usually" and then making assumptions/generalisations what/how"everybody" is thinking.
When you talk about people with low time preference, you are not talking about those that are yelling for the price to go up hard nor fast

Side note, a thing that I've experienced with my situation getting better as time passes is how leaving precarious job gives you buffers and, if you have problems, better ability to negotiate arrangements. It's trivial to be patient with a late check when your bills are paid.

I know people who need to go to the pawnshop if their check get late. It's not a lack of patience to ask for your pay NOW when being late may mean many penalties and being short changed by, and dealing with the logistics of, the pawn shop.
