And to understand that hey just because I don't think every single manager in the world is an inherently bad person and just because I can't lay out for you how a utopian co-op factory would work in a world without bosses exactly doesn't mean the current system is okay

But you try to to apply this to something they actually care about, like "the family", and suddenly they sound exactly like the conservatives It's not really even principles, it's just that most of them never expect to be managers at their work but can imagine having kids

I would think a pirate ship would be model. Like, they have a position of authority by the consent of those they have authority over, and can be removed with a majority vote during a non-crisis situation. That seemed sensible enough to me.

There is the issue that management is a skill in it's own right, but yes. That is an option.

Prison abolition has this issue. "So you just want to let all the criminals out?" Eventually you need to be prepared to say "I don't need to have the new answer to recognise the existing one isn't sustainable."

Also the same problem in that the people who are attached to the current system on some level know that they are on the kicking down side of a power dynamic there and are unwilling to give it up.
