All these people happily RTing and liking not knowing the federal law he's talking about is the ADAhttps://twitter.com/simonsarris/status/1374349901425995783 …

It should be more concerning that the most photographed street in America is illegal to build. It should keep politicians up at night. We should all walk around with a little bit of embarrassment until it is solved. pic.twitter.com/h6jGtxxFRH

The thing is HE obviously knows it's the ADA but he brushes aside the people confronting him about it in the replies Details, details I'm sure the disabled people can figure something out, why let them get in the way of AESTHETICS

This is what pisses me off in general about people bitching about "regulations", who really believe that it's just tyrannical bureaucrats making shit up in their offices to fuck with you There's a saying in the government -- every single regulation is written in blood

One of my colleagues used to say that the ADA is not a building code; it's civil rights legislation. We all need to remember that.

I agree about emphasizing that the ADA is civil rights legislation, but I am not sure I agree that building codes aren't - cf. above about every regulation being written in blood.

It would shut down most of the neighborhood and building anything in Boston is a fucking nightmare but it is doable. ADA compliance in a city with as many hospitals and schools as we do is vital to the economy and urban development

I disagree with you. Aesthetics is worth more than you know. The good, the true, and the beautiful. I’m not against accessibility. It’s good. But the current way, IMO, misses the mark and creates dead space and dead structure. I think it’s equally destructive.

He's literally like "but you can have one accessible unit in a three-story building and ~be ADA!~"
