What's the chance of one mother having two trans kids? The mom who moved from OK to obtain transition care had both a transboy and a transgirl.
Stunning and brave.
And she said of her third "well, he's a baby, he doesn't know what he is yet."21 replies 1 retweet 33 likes -

Whatever you think the cause of being trans is -- be it genetic or environmental, nature or nurture -- since blood siblings raised in the same household share both, the chance of them both being trans is probably pretty high

It's actually really obnoxious when people play this kind of card as a gotcha -- trans people MUST be rare, it's a RULE that they be rare, and they must not only be rare but normally distributed throughout the population, by lottery Anything else is sinister

The actual point you're making here, that it MUST be the result of a mother MAKING her kids trans and that this constitutes some kind of abuse, is disgusting In and of itself, it is a transphobic sentiment

I dunno how to get this across if you don't get it Wanting trans people to be rare, thinking that it's a law of nature that there's a limit to how many trans people you can have and more than that is a "red flag", IS ANTI-TRANS

Being trans, going through transition, is hard. It can't be made easy, it's really difficult. Dilating a neovagina is painful. Vaginal atrophy is painful. I'd like transition to be safe, legal and rare. It's necessary for some, but there are better ways to manage dysphoria.

The safe, legal and rare thing is just a sneaky way to pander to conservatives and maintain stigma about abortion too It's not a choice I would make or that most people would but hell if someone wants to rack up 250 abortions over the course of their lifetime it's their business

This kind of discourse was always a way to try to deflect hate onto a sub-population you think deserves it "Well, my daughter was in a really tough situation and I have nothing but sympathy for women like that What I can't stand is sluts who 'use abortion as birth control'"

(I grew up when "using abortion as birth control" was still this acceptable punching bag to characterize the BAD kind of abortion we need to DISCOURAGE in order to play respectability politics and say OUR kind of abortion is good and responsible And you know what fuck all that)
