It's not that hard if you think about it to come up with ways someone with Superman's powers could grab some extra cash in ways that would be at worst ethically neutralhttps://twitter.com/wes_chu/status/1372769784899670025 …

You know, superman should have made a little bank. At least enough to help his mom out to retire and not lose the farm. World kind of owes her. Why do all good deeds have to be completely charitable and above reproach?

He already uses his massively fast typing skills and his speed and physical invulnerability to get himself to the heart of dangerous news stories faster than anyone else to write for the Planet. The same powers let him become a semi famous author at well.

If the Daily Planet pays for him to fly somewhere to cover a story and he gets a refund from the airline and flies himself there instead, is it really wrong?

Lol you know that he actually forces himself to take the flight and sit next to a crying baby the whole way there to protect his secret identity and keep himself humble

It would be kind of funny, especially in a pre-Uber era, to establish that to save money Clark Kent just doesn't have a car And it becomes this whole mysterious thing where no one understands how he gets places

He always just appears on foot a few blocks away, in his perfectly pressed suit with no indication of having jogged several miles It's a problem for his dating life because he can never pick Lois up, he's always just like "I'll meet you there"

“C’mon Lois, it’s not that weird. No one drives in Metropolis” “Jimmy, he doesn’t even have a metro pass! He doesn’t have a ride share app on his phone.” “Wait, really?”

Yeah like one time one of the major subway lines is shut down due to supervillain-related maintenance and everyone has to take the bus and Clark is the only person who shows up to work on time that day and is like "Oh crap"

It’d be funny for Lois to find out Clark lives in the Metropolis version of New Jersey 50-60 miles from the office (to save tons on rent) and wondering just how the hell he commutes to work everyday.

I think his identity as Superman would be 100% safe though. No one would even suspect that Superman spends 50-60 hours a week being a working stiff and every confounding thing Clark does would get explained away by hard bitten Metropolitans as “he’s from Kansas” 🤷🏻‍♂️

I'm pretty sure he would have heard the people complaining about needing to ride the bus and caught that on his way in. At least he was able to listen to that one kid trying to call their therapist and the therapist being stuck somewhere unable to get to a phone
