For those reading this tweet - this dude is a sexologist with an H-Index of 68. Its likely that some of your ideas about sex originated in his work. Not saying he is right, or that his high H-Index is an argument, but he isn't a rando or a heckler from the cheap seats.

Academic sexology is a cesspool and Blanchard isn't even the most egregious example (that would be John Money) I deeply resent the constant accusations from TERFs that because I support trans people it must mean I support this clique of creepy chucklefucks

You seem confused. TERFs *love* Blanchard.

They like to raise up John Money as a pinata to beat on and claim that he "invented gender ideology" (he really didn't, and what he believed about gender clashes badly with how most trans people see it)

It's damaging to be imprecise about this: Money's position is far more reprentative of the TERF position than it is actual trans people.

I'm not sure that it is -- Money believed that gender was infinitely malleable due to one's childhood upbringing and most TERFs nowadays uphold the straight up trad/conservative position that it's "written into every cell of your body"
