@SarahTaber_bww in the thread I linked was focused more on the moral arguments people make against meat eating, which the idea that “only the rich ate more than a tiny bit of meat” ties into: the rich are wasteful & bad for eating meat. -
The counterpoint was that not-rich people survive as best they can in a wide range of climates, and in many of them, a meat-heavy diet is the only real option.
