Even though I recognize these truths, when I have been pregnant, I feel protective and responsible for an individual life inside me, and it's not a feeling that I can defend on an intellectual level.

I don't know how to explain how I know that a zygote isn't a whole person, but I still feel like Sarah Conner about my own. It's probably all instincts, and hormones, and evolutionary wiring, right?
