i appreciate you taking the time to send all this. but i've read all of them before , save for the serano piece, but overall, it seems like it's just his over-emphasis on detransitioned youth. which, i understand, their stories are weaponized by anti-trans bad actors. thats awful

You haven't read them. You ask questions they already answer. He weaponizes their stories. He gets his info from conversion therapy pushing anti trans parenting groups. He defends Ken Zucker, a conversion therapist. He stalks trans women. He harasses trans people.

most of the accusations are "dog-whistle" variety etc. assumptions. he has stated that "conversion therapy doesn't work." that is louder than any dog-whistle

His Atlantic article positively profiles parents affiliated with 4thWaveNow, an extremist transphobic hate group The first set of parents went to the lengths of isolating their child from their friends and cutting them off from the Internet, which is abuse in and of itself

In the context of trying to halt the "contagion" of being trans, this is a form of conversion therapy The article, far from condemning this behavior, positively describes the parents' sigh of relief that it "worked" and they saved their "daughter" from surgery

It's not a dog whistle, it's just a damn whistle Remove the trans angle from the story and it's just him giving a sympathetic platform to parents profoundly abusing a child to enact behavior modification

The only reason you don't think "isolate this kid from their friends and cut them off from media" is abusive IS the trans angle You think being trans is so fucking bad that it makes normally unthinkable measures justifiable if it's to save the kid from hormones and surgery

nobody here thinks being trans is bad. i was interested in your points about the parents! i wonder what jesse would say about it. again, you need to gin up outrage over dog-whistles to justify a pile-on. all involved are pro-trans

The article has been out for several years and the "point about the parents" is the damn lede of the article It's not an obscure issue and if he actually felt bad he's had ample time to apologize

This archived Twitter argument people are passing around is his response to the "point about the parents", where he staunchly defends parents' right to control their kids' environment to protect them from "harmful ideas"https://archive.fo/FBvPI
