I'm just waiting for someone to find an vulnerability in the code and all hell to break loose. And there is no such thing as software without a vulnerability, whether it's in how it works and/or how it interfaces with hardware, and sometimes it takes years and ears to find one.
-
There was one vulnerability where anyone could mint Bitcoin for themselves. A patch fixed that and the minted Bitcoins were reversed because the blockchain preserves past records. So if something bad happens, hell is unlikely to break loose.

said pretty much this exact thing during a talk yesterday... there is no "revolution" when the winklevoss twins and the fbi are some of the biggest bitcoin holders...
-
There will never be a currency “revolution” unless you have a world power level military infrastructure to back it.

Usually when I say things like this, some dork tries to prove how good the cryptography is and rant about security or whatever. I don't care for the same reason it doesn't matter if Amway makes good soap. The real product is the business, and the business sucks.
