Yeah I'm "morally lucky" in the sense that I don't have kids so it's "easy for me to say" that my dad beating the shit out of me was bad, and I've never had to *personally* reckon with the challenges and stresses he faced (and as a childfree person I've chosen not to)

On the other hand, if you take this term *literally* and argue that I'm actually the lucky one because by being the one who was beat up and not the one who did the beating, I "get to" be innocent and don't have to live with guilt, you can, like, fuck off a cliff
