I don't actually "sympathize" with Hayward -- the show deliberately holds off on giving us anything concrete to sympathize with him about -- but the fact that he was traumatized by the Snap can't be a lie because it's obviously completely fucking impossible for anyone not to be

Of course he was traumatized. But the show doesn't give the viewer enough information on whether or not trauma is why he's doing what he's doing. And yet I've seen so many men sympathize with him and say he's the good guy, even though we don't actually know how he feels

Well yeah that's partly hot take clickbait, like in the show's actual text by the time he's casually firing a gun at two children he's meant to have lost any possibility of sympathy and become a cardboard villain
