She *tries* to be good, she *really really tries* -- when someone like Hayward deliberately pushes her to the very brink of what she can tolerate, makes her watch her husband's corpse being coldly dissected, in hopes of triggering a reaction, she still holds back

Anyway, if we're gonna get into it, in-universe this IS who Wanda was When we were first introduced to her, her whole shtick was invading people's minds to fuck with them and wreck their lives for her amusement and satisfaction She was good at it and unrepentant about it

Age of Ultron was... a long time ago, and not a great movie (even though WandaVision kept trying to make us rewatch it) But WandaVision's plot absolutely does fit with a view of Wanda as someone who was once a habitual abuser who's falling off the wagon hard

That's why I see her as the villain of the series. She knew she was controlling people. Absolutely. But she didn't know she was torturing people. And again, she had a mental break. It's not like she lived her whole life wanting to torture people and then had the power to do so

She... spent the whole time she was working for HYDRA explicitly wanting to torture people That's literally what she signed up for, that was the whole master plan -- get revenge on the Avengers by psychologically torturing them
