I totally do, that’s why I don’t tell children who don’t conform to them that they were born in the wrong body. The IT Crowd is a comedy not a how-to guide. The episode was taking the piss out of sex stereotypes and transphobia, I’m ok with that.

It’s an over the top representation of a fight in the style of action movies - do you think joke representations of fights are unique to this episode? Or do you oppose to any depiction of violence at all?

I oppose the depiction of a man beating up a woman as some kind of triumphant defense of his masculinity

If it were "anti-transphobic" the transphobe would get a comeuppance, not beat a woman. Anti-trans violence is the joke, any other reading of that scene is willfully obtuse.

I mean HOLY SHIT it's amazing that we even have to argue about this Just imagine the episode DIDN'T SAY SHE WAS TRANS Find some other context for Douglas trying to dump a woman, then getting in a physical fight with her and beating the shit out of her

Then have the episode end with him all depressed and lonely because after winning a triumphant, badass battle against her he suddenly realizes he doesn't have a girlfriend anymore Making him the real victim On what planet would "feminists" be lining up to defend this storyline
